Episode 17

Hope in the Lord | Psalm 131:3

We've spent four days in the first two verses, and they were all about one man and his own soul. Then verse 3 turns around. Israel, hope in the Lord. The psalm stops being a private prayer and becomes a word to a people.

On Sunday, someone in your room will be hoping in something that's been failing them. When you lead them to sing, you're doing verse 3. You're saying to the people of God, hope in the Lord. You don't have to feel stilled to say it, and you won't be saying it by yourself, because the room will be saying it with you.
